Joel is a born and raised Toowoomba local who attended his schooling and University in the region.

Joel commenced work in the legal profession in 2016 and joined the Family Law team at O’Neill Family Law in 2019 after working in the Civil Litigation, Crime, Mental Health and Domestic Violence jurisdictions.

Joel is passionate about providing assistance to clients with respect to complex parenting matters and often works in matters where domestic violence is present both currently and historically. Clients say that Joel’s ability to provide clear legal advice in an empathetic way is what sets him apart.

Joel is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and is registered on the High Court of Australia Register of Practitioners. He is also a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association.

Outside of work, Joel always has a number of DIY projects on the go and enjoys time with his family. He is an avid sports follower and enjoyed a professional sporting career when he was younger. He now assists and is involved in various local sporting organisations, which continues to feed his passion for sport, particularly in the Darling Downs region.
